Since opening his private practice in 1982, Dr. Kerner has become a trusted name in podiatric care across Nassau County. His experience spans everything from complex foot and ankle surgeries to diabetic wound management, pediatric podiatry, and the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory foot conditions.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kerner served as the Director of the Department of Orthopedics, Section of Podiatry at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital for 10 years. During this time, he led a team of 15 podiatrists, launched a surgical residency program, and helped shape the next generation of podiatric surgeons.

He founded the Oceanside Youth Triathlon (1998–2004), helping to promote fitness and healthy habits among local children and teens.
